Coahoma Community College’s Writers for Life Program

Established in 2023, Writers for Life Program is a student centered organization led by Mrs. Jen Waller,  director of the Coahoma County Higher Education Center (CCHEC).

The Writers for Life Program offers students practical strategies and engaging activities to enhance their writing skills while providing opportunities to further their knowledge about the Delta’s culture and history.  According to Mrs. Waller, the program gives students a unique advantage by improving their writing outside of the classroom setting thus providing them with a better opportunity to reach their full potential.

Students participating in the program meet at the historic Cutrer Mansion. Mrs. Waller keeps the college and community abreast of the progress students are making through quarterly reports which includes students writing samples, pictures of team members, and engagement activities.
